VentureLync ("we," "us," or "our") operates a specialized platform for the venture capital ecosystem. We recognize that for Founders and Investors, data is equity. This Privacy Policy outlines our uncompromising commitment to data sovereignty, security, and global regulatory compliance.

1. Data Sovereignty & Ownership

Unlike traditional social networks, VentureLync operates under a "User-First" data model:

  • Ownership: Users retain 100% ownership of all original content, including pitch decks, financial models, and execution logs.
  • Non-Exploitation: We do not use your proprietary business ideas or "Venture Data" to train AI models, nor do we share them with third parties for marketing.
  • Zero Sale of Data: We do not, and will never, sell your personal or professional data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data required to facilitate high-trust professional connections.

A. Personal & Professional Identity

  • Verification Data: Name, email, professional title, and company affiliation.
  • Professional Profiles: LinkedIn URLs, founder/investor bios, and areas of interest.

B. Venture Data (Highly Sensitive)

  • Investment Materials: Pitch decks, traction logs, cap tables, and submissions.
  • Communications: Messages and logs shared within the platform’s secure environment.

C. Technical & Automated Data

  • Device Info: IP address, browser type, and operating system (for security and anti-fraud).
  • Usage Analytics: Interaction logs to improve platform performance and "matching" accuracy.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under the following global frameworks:

  • Consent: Explicit agreement provided at sign-up.
  • Contractual Necessity: To provide the platform services you requested.
  • Legitimate Interest: To maintain platform security, prevent fraud, and ensure the integrity of the venture ecosystem.
  • Legal Compliance: To meet regulatory requirements (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering/KYC).

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To verify the identity of founders and accredited investors.
  • To power the "matching" algorithms that connect startups with relevant capital.
  • To provide secure "Deal Rooms" for document sharing.
  • To communicate platform updates and critical security alerts.

5. Stringent Security & Infrastructure

We implement Privacy by Design and Zero Trust Architecture:

  • Encryption: All data is protected via AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 encryption in transit.
  • Isolation: Venture Data is stored in isolated environments to prevent cross-account leaks.
  • Auditability: Every access request to sensitive data is logged and monitored.
  • Employee Access: Our staff cannot access your private pitch decks or messages without your explicit permission for a specific support request.

6. Global Cross-Border Transfers

VentureLync is a global platform based in India.

  • International Standards: We utilize Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for data transfers out of the EEA/UK.
  • DPDP Compliance: We comply with the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act (2023), including the storage of critical data as mandated by local regulations.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Retention: We retain data only as long as your account is active.
  • Deletion: Upon account closure, personal data is purged within 30 days.
  • Exceptions: Professional messages sent to other users remain in the recipient's inbox to maintain the integrity of their business records.

8. Your Universal Privacy Rights

Regardless of your geography, VentureLync grants you the following rights:

  • Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request total deletion of your data.
  • Right to Portability: Export your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object to AI: Opt-out of automated profiling or "matching" scores.
  • Right to Nominate (India): Designate a "Data Successor" in the event of incapacity.

9. Third-Party Sub-processors

We use a limited number of high-security third-party providers (e.g., AWS for hosting, Stripe for payments). All sub-processors are vetted for compliance and are legally barred from using your data for their own purposes. A full list of sub-processors is available upon request.

10. Breach Notification Policy

In the event of a suspected data breach, VentureLync will notify the relevant Data Protection Authorities and affected users within 72 hours of discovery.
